We had the pleasure to work with Ocean Blue Pools, Randall and his team on renovating our twenty-five year old pool. Our renovation consisted of: new ivory travertine coping/deck, pebble tech, tile, and reducing the depth from 8ft to 6ft, adding a sun shell, and a new cleaning system chlorine-salt. The scheduling process and the timely execution was seamless on getting our job completed. Our project took four weeks from start to finish and we could not be more pleased with the end results. Absolutely beautiful! From the very beginning, Randal was thorough and he knowledge was impeccable on making decisions on renovating our pool. His crew was reliable, dependable, and they definitely take pride in their work. Randall stopped by and communicated to us daily on what the next steps would be on our job. Randall and his team were outstanding to work with on our renovation project. Randall gets it! The service he provided was above and beyond and he showed genuine care and concern on making sure we were satisfied with the job. He met with us personally at the start of the project and made several personal visits to check up on the work. His team is amazing. They were punctual each day and very polite and cleaned up at the end of each work day and did amazing work. You can tell he cares for his team and that is great to see in this tough time with finding good labor. We contracted with Randall at Ocean Blue Pools to re plaster our pool a few weeks ago. It was a quick and painless undertaking. He quoted us a price and stuck to it. He said it would take 5 days and it did. They started on a Monday and started refilling the pool on Friday. Different workers with different jobs arrived on schedule each day and did their work. They left the area clean. We now have a pool that looks brand new. The price was reasonable. Our pool holds over 36,000 gallons and is ready for spring and summer. We highly recommend Randall and Ocean Blue Pools

Wonderful pool design & build experience!! We had a limited area to build a pool / spas, and Randall helped us make the most of our area. I had a wonderful experience with Ocean Blue pools! We had a very old pool that was in need of a lot of TLC. Randall came out and gave a quote and was able to tell us exactly what we had on our hands and the process it would take to get it up and running. He was very thorough and took time to show us through all of our design options. He made a recommendation for the sun shelf, which made all the difference in the overall aesthetic of the pool. Install was efficient and professional. They took care of everything start to finish, and linked us up with a maintenance company they truth to keep it up properly. Any questions I had after install were answered quickly. I would absolutely hire them again and recommend them to anyone in need of a professional trustworthy company.

Randall was the best! We checked him out thoroughly, visited some of his recent pool work, and read everything we could. It seemed too good to be true, but he has put together a great company. It's really amazing that he was able to build our pool this summer in the midst of supply chain issues. We did have to make a couple of changes here or there but he was easy to work with and had great suggestions. You will have a positive experience building a pool if you go with Ocean Blue Pools, and I can't give a bigger compliment than that!! His own guys and his subcontractors were elite! To Ocean Blue Pools, These guys are great! We had a resurfacing job in early summer, and were pretty anxious because it was a big investment, but it turned out great. Randall knows what he's doing. ON SCHEDULE. When you get an estimated date, then a firm date, you can bank on it - start to finish. This is a well oiled machine. The guys who get in and get dirty worked so hard and diligently they made ME tired. And the final result is incredible. And when there were a couple super small issues they came out and took care of them quickly. Very thankful and appreciative of the excellent work.

To Ocean Blue Pools, I had a great experience from the very start with Randall and Ocean Blue. Firstly, at the initial "quote" stage Randall was very proactive, priced quickly and followed up. Other companies I had contacted very far slower and seemed less educated on what needed to be done on our intricate project. Plus, Randall was honest about things that had to be done and things that were purely "optional" allowing us to stay in budget. The design process was simple and Randall gave great advice while still allowing my wife and I find find our own vision. The work was performed professionally and Randall kept in great contact even though my wife and I were at another home during the majority of the construction. Finally, the finished product is just spectacular, already really enjoying it just a few days after completion. I don't think there is any better company in town! I highly recommend.

We originally had our pool built by another contractor almost two years ago. However, this summer we started experiencing some significant flaking, the spa developed a leak, and the rebar was so close to the surface we started getting rust stains. I contacted Randall and Ocean Blue Pools to come take a look and see what it would take to repair everything. We decided to go with a new Pebble surface for the pool. They drained the pool, acid washed everything, chipped away the old finish and installed the Pebble finish in the exact time frame we were given. The amount paid was exactly the amount quoted. The crews were on time every day, extremely hard working and cleaned up before they left for the day. From the time the pool was drained and filled back up was a total of seven days and we have a brand-new pool better than the one we had before. Randall and Ocean Blue Pools will be servicing all our pool needs going forward.

We needed to renovate an older pool that was already at a home we purchased. It is our fist pool and needed some TLC. Ocean Blue Pools did an amazing job. We ended up having to have the entire surface chipped out to the original shotcrete surface and start over. Randall is extremely knowledgeable and made the process from start to finish so much easier than I expected. From the renovation process to meeting at the showroom to pick out the new coping, tile and pebble finish. If you are considering renovating an existing pool, or building your first new pool, look no further than Ocean Blue Pools. His expertise, pricing and team can't be beat. Our experience with Randall and Ocean Blue Pools was by far the best we have ever had with any contractor. He exceeded our expectations in a number of ways. First, he listened to our needs and our ideas, gave recommendations, and then implemented a plan that was cost efficient and gave us the pool we desired. Second, Randall lived up to his word. There was no grey area in price or other expectations, and we greatly appreciated how clear and straightforward he was. We did not have to guess as to schedule, design, or the process for our pool being built. Third, his ideas saved us money and time. We had multiple estimates and designs drawn up and Ocean Blue Pools exceeded all of them in being financially responsible, meeting our requirements, and in planning. My family and I cannot recommend Randall high enough. He treated us superbly, and we observed him ensuring the quality of our installation. He was onsite routinely and checked in with us often. If I could give a rating above five stars, I would do it in a heartbeat.

This was our first pool so we literally had no idea what we were doing. I feel very fortunate to have stumbled on Ocean Blue Pools and Randall in particular. Not only did he visit promptly (others we contacted either didn't respond or couldn't see us for several weeks) and basically designed the pool in front of our eyes. He walked us through material and color selections in the showroom then handled the entire permitting process. It's crazy looking back but the permit took longer than the build. The excavator broke ground on July 8th and we filled the pool on August 7th. Every day during the process I knew exactly what would be happening and when. The communication was excellent and they happily dealt with a few items we added on the fly. I only found out later how lucky we really were to work with OBP. Demand for pools is over the top right now and we happened to be located close to another OBP build so Randall fit us in and I couldn't be happier. The pool is gorgeous and looks exactly the way he described it during the very first meeting. All of this in just under one month. We are incredibly impressed by this company.

I will start by saying, “WE LOVE OUR RENOVATED POOL, BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL ONE WE CUSTOM BUILT 15 YEARS AGO!” Thanks to Ocean Blue Pools!!! It honestly looks like a Bellagio Resort in my backyard.
I explored several large pool companies when I was in the due diligence phase of my pool renovation. It was not an easy process at all. Each company had a different idea and methodology of how the renovation should be done. Each company responded differently with regard to their proposal. Every step of this process moved me to using Ocean Blue Pools. One company took over a week to give a verbal estimate over the phone, and another company actually sent me text of what the estimate would be! Ocean Blue Pools responded to my calls and emails immediately, never was there more than 24 hours without communication. After about five revisions to the plan, we finally came up with a final proposal. Each time I asked for a change, OBP sent over the changes within 24 hrs
I will honestly say that the due diligence and design part of my renovation was the hardest and longest part of the entire job. Once we signed the final proposal, OBP started immediately. The job was finished in less than three weeks, which was astounding considering I had over 2000 sq ft of patio to tile and huge 20 x 40 (9.5 foot deep) pool to resurface. The quality of work was nothing short of impeccable. I enjoyed watching each step from my home office. No detail was left undone. Including the clean-up afterwards. I had only one small path of worn grass when it was all over. Two other pool companies told me I would need to replace all the sod in my back yard once the job was complete. The employees of OBP take great pride in their work. We ran into one small problem after the install and Randall and his team took care of it immediately.
My pool looks better now then when it was originally installed. I hope that this review shortens your own due diligence when it comes time to do your pool project.

We hired Blue Ocean Pools to renovate our existing pool. We met with a variety of contractors to evaluate options to upgrade our older pool. We had a HUGE difference in price points and ideas. The owner of Blue Ocean Pools, Randall Schmidt, came out to discuss and estimate our pool renovation. His straightforward approach to the refurbishment made us feel very comfortable from the very start. He provided some practical suggestions and even pointed out how to save money by using our existing equipment while upgrading some components. Once we decided to move forward with Randall, I met with him at his showroom and looked at design ideas, picked out our tile/stone, and chose all our equipment upgrades. Randall is upfront with every detail of the project, and he is one of the most transparent contractors I've ever worked with. We hired Randall and his team to chip out our entire existing pool pebble. They cut out all the old coping and removed the stone that wrapped our spa and spillway. The renovation consisted of them: replacing the coping with Travertine, adding a tile line around the entire pool & spa, re-facing the spa with stacked stone, replacing all the fittings/drains, and re-pebbling the surface of the entire pool. The one thing that stands out with Blue Ocean Pools is their attention to detail. The travertine cuts around my spa are exact and impressive. The coping, stonework, and all of the fitting/drains look amazing. The tile work is excellent, and our new pebble surface is beautiful. Even the tiniest details, like pebble on the drain covers, impresses everyone. Every day during our project, Randall would stop by and check in with me. His crew was very open to explaining what was happening and what came next. Randall also helped us replace our old heater, filter, control panel, and chlorination system. At the end of the project, he introduced us to a pool service to assist with the startup to ensure the pool would cure adequately and all the systems were dialed in. If you are renovating your pool, there is no one better than Randall Schmidt and the team at Blue Ocean pools. We have seen Randall's work with new pools through friends and neighbors, and they are incredible. His renovations will make your old pool LOOK BRAND NEW!!!

Our pool looks AMAZING! Randall made the process very easy for picking out the pebbles, tile, and coping. Our pool did not have coping Prior so they had to saw out over a foot of concrete- they did this in ONE day! The whole project was finished in ~ 10 days. You definitely cannot question the quality of this team. The on-site crew was diligent, very respectful to the property and neighbors, and did just an absolutely fantastic job on creating a resurfacing that's makes the entire pool look brand spanking new. On top of it, we had some site-specific difficulties that were handled collaboratively, with no complaints, and their post job clean-up was amongst the best I've seen for any home project. It was smooth from start to finish, and Randall even helped me with some post-job issues getting maintenance set-up. Importantly, from a BBB perspective, the quoted cost was the actual cost (no major issues uncovered once old surface was opened up). Definitely recommend!

In the end, 23 days from first shovel in the ground to filling the pool - totally surpassed expectations. To say that this job was a challenge might be a bit of an understatement. We purchased a renovated home that had a pool in the back yard. However, as opposed to renovating the pool along with the house, the renovation company opted to fill pool with 13 dump trucks worth of concrete, dirt, and construction debris. After having the pool excavated, we started to call some pool companies. Randall at Ocean Blue was the first to respond, the first to visit, and the first to get back to us with an actual quote. We had two other companies come out. One took about two weeks to get us a quote, and they would not be able to get us on their calendar until the fall. The other one we never heard from again. Despite everything the pool had been through, the original shell was still in remarkably good shape. Randall did not seem intimidated by the scale of the job, and told us "I've brought back pools in worse shape than this." This job involved raising the beam of the pool about 6-7 inches, new plumbing, and new electric. The old finish needed to be stripped off, and a new finish applied. New tile and coping were also installed. Last but not least, about 375 square feet of pavers were installed to create the pool deck and patio. Perhaps the most unbelievable part of the story is that this job was completed in about three weeks time. Randall has an incredible group of craftsmen working for him. Every one of them was kind, respectful and courteous. I give Randall and his team the highest recommendation possible. Outstanding work. The attached photos show our starting point and the finished product.

The first pool company I contracted with ghosted me after installing the shell and taking a large percentage of the overall payment. I quickly found out, there aren't many pool companies willing to pick up where someone left off. However, after dozens of calls to pool companies and with a limited budget, Randall saved the day. Even after dealing with the horrible situation from the previous company, I felt confident that Randall was the right person for the job. He provided a clear plan and timeline from the beginning. He was highly involved every step of the way. His team was polite and paid attention to every little detail. Randall ensured the numerous misteps from the previous company were resolved along the way. He was able to finish the project in less than 4 weeks of which one week was waiting on permits and a rain delay. I am beyond happy with the final results and I can now enjoy my beautiful backyard with my family and friends. My experience with Ocean Blue Pools was excellent. I have a 20 year old pool that needed to be renovated. I inquired about the project with three different pool companies, and by far Ocean Blue was the best in terms of setting expectations, fair pricing, and dependable scheduling. It was an extensive renovation that required total resurfacing and retiling, and installation of a salt water system. Randall, the owner of the company, coordinated everything. I received an itemized list of project costs that was up front and clear. When Randall told me the project would take two weeks from start to completion, I was a bit skeptical, especially based on the experience I had when I had my pool built 20 years ago with a different company that has since gone out of business. To my delight, his crew started work on the scheduled date, and with each stage of completion, Randall was personally there to check the work, and to ensure that everything was progressing smoothly. The renovation was completed in exactly 2 weeks as promised, and the quality of the work was outstanding. The pool looks better now than when it was new. A sparking Tahoe Blue pebble tech oasis that I will enjoy this summer and expect to enjoy for many years to come. I would recommend Ocean Blue Pools without any reservations.

Hello my fellow House Women, in charge of redesign of the Family backyard. This is my 2nd build in 5yrs, Husband is corporate. So, that means whatever we do to any of the homes we live in needs to be appealing to the next homeowner. Because we move often. Randell is Amazing! So, he was not my first pick. But when I got my quote back for my first pick and it was $5,000 over and we haven't even started! That's a No-No! Randell stuck with me throu every part of budget. Ladies when your husband gives you a budget and someone comes back immediately over that's the wrong person. Only contact Ocean Blue Pools if you have high expectations on how a pool can transform your home into a personal resort. I am a first with Randall and team and can tell you first hand these guys are top notch. Not our first pool build and these guys were punctual, professional and delivered on every single detail. On budget, on time and minimal problems. Not the cheapest in town, but able to build your vision and will keep you involved every step of the way. Randall and his team were on top of every detail even after the pool was finished. We were out of town for the ENTIRE project because of work obligations. Literally didnt even see the marks he made in the yard for where the pool was going to go. We trusted Randall to make all of those decisions on his own using his expert opinion. Whenever any questions or concerns came up he never hesitated to make sure we were all on the same page. If i had to do it all over again i would choose Randall and his team EVERY time. I wanted to take a few seconds to offer my feedback. Randall built us an amazing pool. Moving from Houston where pools are built in weeks we were skeptical on pulling the trigger as we had seen several neighbors labor through a 4-6 month process to build a pool. Randall completed the pool in less than 45 days from initial dig to water in the pool. The entire process was completed by top notch individuals whether the electricians, plumbers, etc. Randall was very hands on, informative through the whole process, and very helpful in tying it all together to create a beautiful back yard.

I am beyond happy with our backyard oasis. It sparkles like the ocean in the Greek islands! Randall and his team did an amazing job on refurbishing our pool. Ocean Blue did a complete renovation of our pool including converting it to a salt/chlorine generator. They were prompt, efficient and very reasonable on their price. Randall (Ocean Blue Pools) built us an amazing pool four years ago and we couldn’t be happier. Recently noticed an issue with low pressure and emailed Randall for advice. Randall got right back to me and said he’d be out the next day to take a look. As promised, Randall and Andrew came out and quickly determined the filters had not been properly cleaned (pool cleaning service was subpar) and performed a complimentary cleaning which fixed the problem. Randall also noticed a rust stain under the pool light which Andrew got rid of for us. I was impressed with the fantastic job Randall did building our pool. I got three quotes for the much needed renovation of my pool. My pool looked like an old Howard Johnsons pool with bright blue tile and red brick bullnose. It was about 20 years old. It needed to be re-plastered, the tile, bullnose &coping needed replacing, the light was broken and I wanted to convert it to salt water. I chose Randall (Ocean Blue). He wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive quote. An acquaintance of mine had Ocean Blue renovate her pool and raved about their work. Now I see why. My pool looks amazing with a color scheme that works with the house. Ocean Pools crews were respectful, cleaned up after themselves and their tile work is beautiful. Every project has 1 or 2 little glitches but Randall handled all of them himself until I was happy. I am not easy to please and Ocean Blue Pools made me happy to have such a lovely environment to swim and entertain in. They even hooked me up with a pool service company.

Better than expected! 110% recommend! Randall is honest, reliable, meticulous, and very knowledgable. We are so happy we chose Ocean Blue Pools. I was expecting a salesman to come to the house to draw up the plans and estimate for the pool, but instead found Randall, THE OWNER, knocking at the door! From day one he has been in constant communication with us. And, now, months after the project is over, he emails us to see how the pool is do...ing and answers all our questions within minutes of sending the email. Permitting took almost 2 months! Randall had the pool filling up with water in 5 weeks! It would have been 4, but we had a whole week of rain to contend with. Our builder left us a backyard that had major drainage issues. Randall could see right away what needed to be done so that we could have a backyard oasis. He has a true vision of what can be done. It was truly a pleasure to work with you Randall!

Ocean Blue Pools made a major renovation of my approximately 30 year old pool. It’s been a pleasure every step of the way to work with Randall due to his professionalism and pride of workmanship. The pool, spa, tile, coping, and deck all needed renovating. A number of issues came up, but Randall was on top of every issue. In additional to being professional, he has a wealth of knowledge and experience, a pleasant demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a talented and dedicated work crew. The crew worked rain or shine (in my case – a lot of rain). And in the middle of the project, I decided I wanted an additional shelf put in the pool. I already had a sun shelf, and although a second shelf is not a normal option on a pool (I’ve never seen one, nor had Randall), Randall completely understood what I wanted, and despite the fact that it wasn’t in his schedule, he jungled and got it done. The second shelf has been a great addition to my otherwise deep water pool! The pool and spa as a whole are fabulous – the colors, the material, and even design changes have transformed my pool into a beautiful, useful and enjoyable asset to my home.

Randall S****** and the professionals at Ocean Blue Pools provided an outstanding pool building experience! From the initial design through to the fill of the pool Ocean Blue pools far surpassed our expectations. Beginning with the initial dig Randall was on site to oversee the crew and provided daily photos and progress. Ocean Blue only utilizes the best materials and they did not cut corners. They are perfectionists to the smallest details! Although pool construction can be messy the took care to maintain the property to the best of their ability. Communication was excellent throughout the process and he coordinated decking, landscaping and fencing with other professionals. We did not have to worry about a thing! As this was the first pool we built we were very nervous about what to expect. The project ultimately was completed ahead of schedule and there were no unexpected cost overages! Randall was faced with two people that had no idea about pools. We moved to a home with a pool Our pool had not been opened in years. We had no idea of its condition or how to take care of it. The entire pool had to be redone from picking plaster, tiles and edging to then taking care of it. Randall's team of very professional workers and everyone involved were the best ever. I have never submitted a review to the BBB before but concerning the job that was just completed by Oceans Blue I know that it would help those looking for a pool company to ever remodel or design a new pool. I cannot say enough about the professional service rendered throughout the whole process. Talk about customer service, we got it in the most refreshing way... I chose a tile that I thought I would like but once after about 30 pieces were on I knew it was not the look I wanted. I texted Randell ( and yes I had his cell phone...amazing ) and told him I didn't like it. He told his crew to stop, customer not satisfied. I was willing to go to the show room and look again. But Randell said he had it covered and brought the tile to our home to rethink and make another choice. Now that just doesn't happen. He's wasn't upset ...he didn't try and talk me out of a change..he was so accommodating. I pick out a new tile that I loved so much better. Unfortunately customer service is a lost art...I really was so surprised at his genuine concern to help us as customers and feel satisfied with the process. And I'm not talking about a middle man.....I mean the owner came everyday and checked out the work and crew. The pool is beautiful. Really beautiful. But so was the service. Randell was on schedule, his crew was on time. He called and returned our calls quickly. We have had so much work done around our house with all kinds of workers from different companies working. But none to the likes of Ocean Blue. I'm ALWAYS a rewiew reader but usually don't send a review. But I don't think it would be fair to a company that worked so hard to please the customers without sending a rewiew of excellence to the BBB. With all that said. There are plenty of pool companies out there, but it's the customer service that is so important....Randell will spend the time actually communication as often as needed to make sure you are satisfied. Our neighborhood pool association hired Ocean Blue Pools to resurface our pool and put in new coping. Our pool was built in the 80's and has been resurfaced several times. We started our pool adventure in March of 2015 interviewing 10 different pool companies. I have to say out of the 10 companies Randall at Ocean Blue Pools was the only one that really listened to what we were looking for and understood we had a certain budget to adhere too. He sat down in our home with his computer and within an hour had a design that we could start working with. We made a few changes and by July we had our final design down and within budget. Randall was great in helping us choose the best color tiles, pebble tech, and pavers to make everything flow extremely well. We started the permitting process and ran into variance issues with the city and Randall made it seamless working with his permitting company to get the proper documents filed and get the variance approved. We started the dig in November and within 5 weeks we had a pool installed. Randall was great in helping to find and manage several subcontractors we needed for fencing, landscaping, and re-routing some wood deck steps. If you are looking for the total package and someone that is 110% dedicated to your project, then Randall and his team at Ocean Blue Pools will make your pool dream come true.

After contacting a handful of pool contractors, some of whom took several days to respond to my initial call or email -- to say nothing of those who never responded -- I knew within 30 seconds of meeting Randall that Ocean Blue Pools was the company with which we wanted to work.My initial contact with Randall was an email I sent through his Web site late one night. I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up and found Randall had responded to my email at 4:30 AM! I called Randall, as he suggested, and two days later, Randall was at our home, right on time, to meet with my wife and me. I had no hesitation in signing Randall's contract, and neither should anyone else. Randall is a straight-shooter, and his constant communication throughout the entire project was surpassed only by the quality of work and service Ocean Blue Pools provided. We had a few surprises but Randall informed us in the beginning that it could occur considering the pool was not properly built in the first place. Let me tell you I saw Randall on site everyday including phone calls to let me know updates and what was going on. Every step of the way, from bringing in supplies right down to pressure washing the deck when they were done, This company has been right on target in what a company should be. I would back this company 100% with recommendations. We have passed along their information to a couple of friends and family members and told them don't hesitate and there was no reason to call any other company. There is so much we could say and could take up all of google to say about these guys... We just love them. I even think they cleaned up our yard and landscaping that was surrounding the waterfall better than our landscaper did. They took what looked like a cesspool - black water, hundreds of pounds of debris, broken tile, deteriorated plaster and concrete, and even gold fish - into something beautiful. My pool looks brand new, and it's thanks to the hard work and design of the people at Ocean Blue Pools. They were great to work with, did what they said they were going to do, and all in a timely manner for a great price. I'd strongly recommend Ocean Blue Pools to anyone looking for custom-built pools or pool renovation.

Randall and his team did an amazing job on our pool. When we bought our house, the pool was literally black from years without maintenance and the surrounding cement was in bad shape. After just a few weeks of work, our pool looks better than I ever imagined. The addition of the pavers completely changed the appearance of our backyard as well. Randall had great suggestions on how to get the best results and was very respectful of our budget and time restraints. Overall, a great experience with results that are exceptional.

We hired Randall to design and build a High End Custom Pool and Spa, with many water features. He designed a beautiful freeform pool and spa, with Bubblers, Sheer Decent Waterfalls, Deck Jets and more. It is also fully automated. He also worked directly with our home builder on several of the site location issues. He install hand chipped coping and beautiful pavers around the pool. It has beautiful stacked stone and a Pebble finish. He also worked with our home builder on a large Poolside Cabana. Randall was on site every day and was available for any questions that we had, at all times. The pool looks great and we are very, very happy with the whole project. We hired Ocean Blue Pools and Randall to renovate our pool. We were moving and rented our house. The renter was due in very soon and we had to get the pool in good working order. Our pool had many coats of paint and we were considering repainting again, so i contacted the local pool store to once again, walk me thru the painting process. Well, the pool had many coats of paint, and was severely etched and pitted. After speaking with Randall, he said he could come in and chip the paint off, prep it with a bond coat and re-plaster it in 2 days. Well in 2 days it was done and filling. It looked perfect. like a brand new pool. Our renter was very happy and everything is great! Thank you to Ocean Blue Pools and Randall.
